Description
Roman chamomile is a cooling essential oil with a sweet scent. It has a relaxing a nd calming effect. Obtained from the small white daisy like flowers this essential is calming to the mind and soothing to the nerves. The name derives from the greek anthemis meaning “little flower”. It has been found in ancient Egyptian sites and in early Scandinavian culture, it was associated with the sun god.
While many people associate Roman Chamomile with a sweet, calming cup of tea and a good night’s sleep, this soothing herb can also be found in face creams, shampoos, and perfumes. Factoid: Used by the Ancient Romans to gain courage during battle, the calming properties of Roman Chamomile have long been heralded.
